When I first consulted with Bob Brown, CEO of Integrated Systems, Inc. (ISI), about his goals for his website, he answered wryly, “I just need it to not disqualify us.” While he was being a bit facetious, he also made a good point about the value of a well-designed website.

Your business’ website is your digital front door to the world. Even if you don’t operate a traditional brick-and-mortar, just imagine someone coming through the front door of your building. Would you ignore them or greet them? Would you want them to wade through disorganized shelves of merchandise or would you want to subtly yet intentionally guide their eye to the product that would help solve their problem?

What does your current website tell the world about your business?

A great online experience really comes down to one thing: make it easy for your ideal customer to solve their problem.

In the case of ISI, I needed to assure potential customers that they were looking at a qualified, well-established service provider who could deliver a custom solution just for them. This objective guided every design decision I made, from the tone of the copy to the colors and fonts. I added new, higher-quality videos and photos to round out the finished product. I’ve added several updates to the site since originally building it.
